EXCLUSIVE: Black Veil Brides’ Andy Biersack Opens Up

In our backstage interview, the Black Veil Brides frontman opens up about people judging one another.

I’ve been interviewing bands for almost 15 years. And I have to say that the Black Veil Brides are not just one of the kindest bands I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with, but they’re also five of the nicest guys I’ve ever met in my life.  And it really upsets me when I see people judging them on social media based on the clothes they wear and the tattoos they have. It upsets me even more to think about the fact that this probably happens to them all the time in real life, too – like at airports and restaurants.

So when I knew I’d be chatting with Andy at Warped Tour, I really wanted to ask him about his own personal experiences of feeling judged. His sincerity and candor blew me away. Everyone should watch this interview clip, not just fans of the band, but anyone who’s ever judged or felt judged. And let’s be real, we’ve all been on both sides.   “We all see something or somebody and make a guess about what they might be like,” he said. “The difference is going up to that person and making them feel bad about it is something that I can’t understand.”

During our interview, Andy also revealed his songwriting process and shares advice for aspiring musicians. Not only is his band Black Veil Brides hugely successful, his solo music is also very popular. Andy’s 2017 solo tour sold out multiple dates and his fans are hoping for more new music soon.
