“I’m a living example that things really do get better.”
If you attended TJ Martell Family Day New York, you got to see the incredible Ali McManus share the stage with stars like Asher Angel and JoJo Siwa.
Whether she’s rocking out with Steven Tyler in her “Roll This Way” music vid or baring her soul onstage behind the piano, the “Unbreakable” singer is one of our favorite performers to watch. And she has an incredible story to tell: Ali’s been in a wheelchair since the age of 7, after being diagnosed with a rare bone disorder. “I don’t see myself as a person in a wheelchair, though,” she says. “I see myself as a regular person who just happens to sit down all day.”
She’s endured multiple surgeries, hospital stays, and health battles, but through it all, Ali remains, well, “Unbreakable.” And the struggles she’s been through have resulted in some amazing music – and memories.
“You’re perfect the way you are,” she says. “No matter if you’re sitting down or whatever you have, follow your dreams. I’m a living example that things really do get better.”
