Hair How-to: Rydel Lynch’s Half Bun

The half bun is a trendy ‘do that a ton of celebs — like Ariana Grande, Iggy Azalea and Julianne Hough –have been rockin’ lately. Since Rydel Lynch is always inspiring fans to experiment with their style, she’s the perfect celeb to look to for inspiration! She’s made this hairstyle one of her go-to’s, and seeing as how easy it is to style, we understand why.

Follow the simple steps below to copy the cool look!

What you need:
-Hair brush and comb
-Hairspray
-Hair tie
-Bobby pins

Step 1: Make sure hair is dry. The half bun looks cute with both straight and curly hair, so style it however you’d like!

Step 2: Now you’ll want to section off your hair into two parts: a) the bottom layer b) the top layer. Use your thumbs to gather the top layer of hair from ear to ear. Make sure you have enough hair in the top layer, because this is the section of hair that you’ll be making a bun out of. 

Step 3: Once you have sectioned off enough hair, it’s time to give the top layer some volume. Tease the top layer by spritizing with hairspray. and then use a comb to backcomb the section. Make a ponytail and secure with a hairtie.

Step 4: Brush out the ponytail and twist the hair into a bun. To keep it in place, secure the bun in multiple places with bobby pins. Spritz with hairspray and brush out the rest of your hair.
