Here’s Why Cara Delevingne Isn’t Stressing About Her Psoriasis Anymore

“If you hate yourself and your body and the way you look, it just gets worse and worse.”

That rash, as Cara first opened up about back in 2013, is a skin condition called psoriasis. Psoriasis is an autoimmune disease that causes patches of abnormal skin. These marks are typically red, itchy, and dry.

After pictures surfaced, people called the spots “nasty looking sores” and said they “made her look imperfect,” among other things.

Though Cara has struggled with insecurities due to her psoriasis in the past, she didn’t try to hide it at the Suicide Squad debut, and we think that’s absolutely amazing!

Psoriasis and other similar skin ailments like eczema, acne, etc. are non-infectious, not contagious and NOTHING to be ashamed of! In fact, psoriasis is an incredibly common condition that affects more than 7.5 million Americans.

“People would put on gloves and not want to touch me because they thought it was, like, leprosy or something,” she said of how psorasias led to her taking a step back from modelling. “It is a mental thing as well because if you hate yourself and your body and the way you look, it just gets worse and worse.”

Seeing Cara rock her rash in front of the whole world was SO inspiring to her fans with the same condition. Can you imagine what it’s like to suffer in silence, and then see the world’s hottest supermodel strutting her stuff and not even stressing about?

YOU’RE SO BEAUTIFUL NOW, Cara! We love you. <3
