Chloe Kim, Bindi Irwin and more of your faves are getting “Shero” dolls!
Who are your personal role models? Are they the athletes that make you feel like nothing is impossible? How about the artists that inspire you to follow your dreams – or the influential figures who have changed the course of history? Well, Mattel is going to be honoring an entire new group of inspiring women with their latest Barbie “Role Model” collection, including some of our own favorite stars!
Just in time for the 2018 International Women’s Day, Olympic snowboarder Chloe Kim, artist Frida Kahlo, filmmaker Patty Jenkins, boxing champ Nicola Adams Obe, conservationist Bindi Irwin, iconic aviation pilot Amelia Earhart and more incredible women are now being honored with their very own Barbie dolls in this inspiring series.
“As a brand that inspires the limitless potential in girls, Barbie will be honoring its largest line up of role models timed to International Women’s Day, because we know that you can’t be what you can’t see,” the senior VP of Barbie, Lisa McKnight, said in a statement. “Girls have always been able to play out different roles and careers with Barbie and we are thrilled to shine a light on real life role models to remind them that they can be anything.”
We love seeing a huge brand like Barbie honoring such impactful people – all while changing the way we see representation in our toys.
