Zendaya Has a Totally Different New Film Role

The star will also be co-producing her exciting new movie.

It’s no secret that Zendaya’s movie career is taking off in big ways. With major hits like “Spider Man: Homecoming” and “The Greatest Showman” under her belt, we can’t get enough of seeing her on the big screen, and her latest project is another exciting piece to look out for. The actress will be starring in and co-producing the upcoming psychological thriller called “A White Lie” along with Reese Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter. What an all-star cast, right?

The movie’s script is written by Monica Beletsky, and is based off of Karin Tanabe’s 2016 novel, “The Gilded Years.”  The concept is inspired by the true story of Anita Hemmings, which is sure to be compelling and inspiring. The African American woman, passing as white, became the first Black woman to attend and graduate exclusive women’s school Vassar College back in the 1890s.

“Monica, Zendaya, Lauren and Reese have developed a bold and original approach to Anita’s story that explores complex and timely themes in a way that is sure to thrill audiences,” the president of TriStar Pictures shared about the movie.
