As you guys already know, we’re all about spreading the love, sending good vibes your way and of course, making you feel your best daily. So when celebrities are on the same page as us, we get really excited!
On Saturday (the same day we launched ysbnow.com), comedian and actress Amy Schumer hosted Saturday Night Live, a comedy sketch show, and in her opening scene, she totally nailed our powerful message and took our side on pretty much everything our brand stands for.
The Trainwreck star talked about women in Hollywood and how there is a specific lack of good, strong, role models for young girls in today’s world.
She shared a specific story about Devon, the 9-year-old girl who plays the younger version of her in the movie. Amy said that Devon came up to her at the premiere and said, “I overheard my agent talking to my mom, and she said that my cheeks are too big so I don’t get a lot of work. But then I thought, ‘Well, my cheeks made me look like you and I’m so grateful I have these cheeks.’”
Amy says she started crying and told Devon she’s going to work forever. In her speech she also noted to the audience, “We have to be a role model for these little girls because who do they have?”
Now that is cool. Go Amy!
The reason we love Amy is she’s totally herself, 24/7. She takes pride in who she is and doesn’t care about what others think of her. In Hollywood, Amy is also considered a “bigger” girl, which is SO ridiculous, right?! She may not be stick thin, but who cares? She’s beautiful inside and out. And the fact that she is aiming to make a difference is just pure awesome.
People who have called Amy “fat” in the past have only made her stronger. Now, she just laughs it off and pokes fun at them in her comedic performances and on Instagram, as you can see from this photo below.

Oh, and did we mention she’s also BFFs with Jennifer Lawrence?! That, in itself, is amazing. Stay cool and beautiful, Amy!
