Starring Grant Knoche, Nia Sioux, Luke Mullen, Emily Skinner, Darius Marcell, & Indiana Massara
PROM SEASON: The time of year when you want to look your best.
But we think it’s more important to feel your best and be your best. And that’s why for our third-annual #YSBnowProm cover shoot, we wanted to share the incredible stories of six young stars who will inspire you to do just that.
Nia, Emily, Indiana, Grant, Luke, and Darius are six of the kindest, most talented, passionate, genuinely awesome people we’ve had the pleasure of getting to know. And they’re just as beautiful inside as they are in these photos.
We’re so excited to tell their individual stories in the coming weeks, but in the meantime, enjoy our 2019 YSBnow Prom shoot!
NIA SIOUX & GRANT KNOCHE: Longtime Friends Who Share a Passion
Nia Sioux and Grant Knoche may have grown up on opposite sides of the country (Pittsburgh and Dallas, respectively), but their mutual love of dancing sent them both on an exciting journey that caused them to cross paths. “The first time I met Grant was at JoJo Siwa’s birthday party many years ago,” says Nia. “After I met him there, we instantly became friends.”
“That summer, he came to see me in an off-Broadway show I was doing in New York, and after the show we went to Times Square, searching for ice cream cones so we could do the unicorn challenge!” she laughs.
“The first time I met Nia, I knew we were instantly going to become great friends,” says Grant. “We both are so goofy and fun and our friendship is so easy.”
DARIUS MARCELL & INDIANA MASSARA: From Co-Hosts to Close Friends
Last year, Darius Marcell and Indiana Massara became fast friends after co-hosting Brat Chat together. “Darius or ‘Diggy,’ as we call him, is literally my dude,” smiles Indiana. “He makes me laugh uncontrollably after hours on set.”
“Indy and I have always had this great vibe,” says Darius. “Our personalities just get on well, not to mention she is very funny, so we are joking around all the time. I also love that she’s an individual. She gives you a sense of confidence and class without losing her sense of self.”
EMILY SKINNER & LUKE MULLEN: Fan Favorites and Fast Friends
California natives Emily Skinner and Luke Mullen both discovered their passion for acting at a very young age. For years, they honed their skills in acting classes and performed onstage – Emily as a competitive dancer and Luke in community theatre. But their paths would cross and their lives would change forever after being cast in the groundbreaking series, Andi Mack.
The pair quickly became fan favorites in storylines never before seen on children’s television. And while Andi Mack may be ending this summer for reasons beyond our comprehension, the show’s legacy – and their friendship – will live on forever. “The Kippen siblings are real and I couldn’t ask for a better sister,” smiles Luke.
