EXCLUSIVE VIDEO PREMIERE: Brandon Severs “Chameleon” + Q&A!

“No one should have to feel like they must blend in to be accepted”

Brandon Severs is hilarious as Dusty on Disney XD’s Walk the Prank. But we had no idea the Las Vegas native is an amazing singer, too! We’re so excited to present the exclusive premiere of Brandon’s debut music video for “Chameleon” below. We also got to catch up with him and talk about his musical side and inspirations, which inspired us.
Check it out!

Q: How old were you when you discovered your love of singing?

A: I was around four years old when I discovered my love for singing.  The church I used to go to would encourage the youth to go on stage and sing Praise and Worship songs, and I loved it!!!  But, I think I was the only kid on the stage who loved singing and performing.  Hahahahaha!

Q: You’re awesome on Walk the Prank! Have fans been surprised that you’re an amazing singer, too?

A: Yes, my “Walk the Prank” fans are often surprised that I am also a singer. I post covers on my IG and many of my fans comment with, “Wow, you sing too?” They’re so used to seeing me play the role of “Dusty” on ‘Walk the Prank,’ that they’re shocked when they learn that I sing as well.

Q: What upcoming music plans can you share with us (touring, releasing an album, etc.)?

A: There is definitely some more music in the works! Be on the lookout, I will be surprising you guys with more stuff soon!

Q: Was there a specific personal experience that inspired “Chameleon”?

A: The message behind CHAMELEON is that it really should be okay to be different.  No one should have to feel like they must blend in to be accepted. The world we live in is full of people off all different races, creeds and colors and people deserve to exist without others breaking them down or making them feel bad for being “different.” I remember a time when I was with a group of friends, who all seemed to be just alike, and I thought to myself, I wonder what it would be like if someone “different,” according to society’s terms, came to our group.  Would we allow them to hang with us? Would they have to change to fit in?

Q: The lyrics are really inspiring – what advice do you have for your fans, with regard to following their dreams and never giving up?

A: Thank you.  The advice I have for my fans on following their dreams and never giving up is exactly that, “Do not give up!” I like the quote by Winston Churchill that says, “Never, never, never give up!” Is it going to be easy?  No.  Will it be fun 24/7?  No. But, when you get to where you’re trying to go, will it be worth it? Yes!  So, don’t give up.
