Meet James Charles: the new face of CoverGirl! The glam 17 year old make-up artist is starring in CoverGirl’s latest campaign for mascara “So Lashy,” and we couldn’t be happier for him.

The announcement of James’ campaign came early Tuesday morning on none other than Katy Perry’s Instagram:

“Just wrapped another great @COVERGIRL shoot. Honored to have the pleasure to announce the very first COVERBOY, James Charles!” the caption read.

“All of our CoverGirls are role models and boundary-breakers, fearlessly expressing themselves, standing up for what they believe, and redefining what it means to be beautiful,” CoverGirl released in a statement.

“One year ago, he boldly chose to launch his Instagram to the world, using transformative, dynamic makeup looks to showcase the many facets of his personality, serving as an inspiration to anyone who might have been afraid to do the same.”

James has only been on Instagram for a year, but his iconic looks made him famous almost instantly. He has 400k follows just after twelve months, and for good reason!
