Ed recently announced a break from Twitter.
After a recent misunderstanding in one of Ed’s interviews, the singer announced he’d be taking a break from Twitter. Ed says, “I’ve actually come off Twitter completely. I can’t read it. I go on it and there’s nothing but people saying mean things.” Here at YSBnow, we understand the severity of cyber-bullying and how anyone, not just celebrities, can let it get to them.
“Twitter’s a platform for that. One comment ruins your day. But that’s I’ve come off it,” Ed explains. He goes on to say that the app has made him wonder why people dislike him so much. That’s heartbreaking to read from one of our favorite musicians, who has millions of fans who love and support him.
One of Ed’s friends, Lady Gaga, used Instagram to support and defend Ed. She posted this photo:
“What an incredible talented artist I LOVE ED @teddysphotos deserves all our love and respect like all humans do.”
“I wish all people on the internet would be positive and loving and apart of creating an online community that is kind and empowering, not hateful and mean.”
She goes on, “No reason to tear down an artist simply because they are on top. Work harder to be kinder everybody. That should be your first duty to humanity.”
Thank you, Lady Gaga!
