Louis Tomlinson Pays Tribute To His Late Mom with His New Song, “Two Of Us”

The singer’s mother sadly passed away in 2016.

Today, Louis Tomlinson dropped one of his most personal songs of all time: a poignant track called “Two of Us.” Not only is this considered the highly-anticipated first single off of his upcoming debut solo album, but this beautiful and emotional track is a tribute to his late mother, Johannah Deakin, who passed away in 2016 after battling leukemia. 

In the aftermath of his mother’s death, Louis has had to learn a lot of difficult lessons. Through this song, he works through many of the emotions he has felt in the passing years. In his powerful lyrics, he comes to the conclusion that he has to live this life to make his mom proud — therefore experiencing everything for the “two of us.”

“I will keep you day and night, here until the day I die / I’ll be living, one life for the two of us,” Louis sings in the track. “I will be best of me, always keep you next to me / I’ll be living one life for the two of us.”

How beautiful is that? We’re sure Louis’ mom would be so overwhelmingly proud of all his successes — and his work is also resonating with fans who have experienced loss themselves.
