Missguided Celebrates Diversity with New #InYourOwnSkin Campaign

Each of these gorgeous models is proudly showing off her own unique skin condition.

What are some your physical characteristics that make you look one-of-a-kind? Maybe it’s a gap between your front teeth, or a beautiful constellation of freckles across your face. Or perhaps its a prominent scar, that comes along with a story of what you’ve survived. Those special features are the exact one that fashion brand Missguided is celebrating in its new #InYourOwnSkin campaign.

For their latest style season, the UK-based brand partnered up with six empowering young women who are all about celebrating their diversity and uniqueness. The message behind their campaign is feeling comfortable in your own skin, something these ladies all know a thing or two about.

You see, every model featured in this campaign has a different skin condition or unique skin appearance that they are proudly showing off.

There’s Isabella, who shows off her burn scars in an effort to normalize disabilities and disfigurements. Mariana was born with a prominent birthmark on her face, which she works with a fierce smolder in her full-time modeling career.

Maya’s displaying her rare skin condition, Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), in efforts to raise awareness about it. Similarly, Beth is done hiding her own psoriasis.

Polly makes her freckles (and her tattoos!) standout features in her own stunning modeling work. Joanne, a plus size model with albinism, wants “inclusivity” to actually mean including everyone.

“These babes continue to challenge the world’s perception of beauty and exude the confidence to be comfortable #InYourOwnSkin,” Missguided shared about their models — some of whom are modeling for the very first time in this exciting campaign. “It’s all about embracing your flaws, ignoring the haters, celebrating what makes you unique, and always striving to be that little bit extra.”

We love seeing true diversity in fashion campaigns and hearing each of these girls’ inspiring reasons for proudly showing off their skin! To hear more from each of the campaign stars, be sure to visit Missguided’s Style Blog.
