“There’s so much negativity in the world… if we’re going to make art we should use it [for good.]”
If Sabrina Carpenter’s songs are on regular rotation on your playlist, you know just how powerful and mood-changing her music can be. Luckily, the singer has big plans to expand her musical reach, and unify people all over the world with her songs’ inspiring messages.
In fact, if you’ve been lucky enough to catch Sabrina on her De-Tour this summer, you may have even had the chance to listen to the song she wrote entirely about this goal! At her shows, the artist has started performing a brand new, un-released track called “Alone Together,” which she wrote to spread the message that we can all be unified in our experiences of emotions, no matter how alone we may feel sometimes.
“There’s a lot of us that feel alone, but we don’t realize that we’re alone together,” Sabrina told NorthJersey.com about the inspiration driving the song. “To have [the audience] in front of you knowing that everyone can relate to that. I think that’s been a really great, exciting part for me.”
“Every single day, there’s something new and you’re constantly taking on new challenges,” Sabrina added about her musical journey. “It is such a powerful thing to be able to unite so many people.”
Sabrina has been playing “Alone Together” self-accompanied on the piano as an encore for her live shows, and fans are clearly loving it as a powerful ending to an evening packed with personal, poignant music.
“I wanted it to kind of feel like it was a score to a movie and feel like it was cinematic,” she dished of the song. “I thought it would be fun to do a song no one’s ever heard before and a song that I’m not quite sure where it will end up.”
