Sabrina Carpenter Shares the Personal Story Behind Her New Song “Alien”

“I think everyone no matter what age you are can relate to being alienated in your own feelings,” the star says.

When you listen to a song, it’s only natural that you wonder about the story that sparked the lyrics. And when you listen to a Sabrina Carpenter song specifically, you almost can’t help falling into the relatable tales that she’s singing. It’s definitely the case with her latest song “Alien,” which she created with Jonas Blue.

While you can take many messages away from the inspiring song, Sabrina has now shared that her driving force behind the song is how your own emotions can feel so alien… even though you’re the one going through them!

“As a teenage girl, my feelings and emotions are always kind of really indescribable, and they change really quickly and really fast,” Sabrina told People magazine. “We describe not being able to describe how I was feeling, and once we kind of played around with ‘alien’ as a feeling instead of an actual solid thing or object, it became emotional.”

“The goal for the song was to have as many people related to it as they can, and I think everyone no matter what age you are can relate to being alienated in your own feelings,” she added.

Sabrina is always bringing people together through her music, and this song is keeping that important conversation going!
