Why the star is especially thankful this year!

If you’re one of the milllions who tuned into today’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, you saw the sensational Sofia Carson performing “Rotten to the Core” from Disney’s Descendants. And believe it or not, if you watched it 10 years ago, you would have seen her, too! Back in 2005, Sofia flew to New York City and performed in the parade with her dance studio, Impac Youth Ensemble! She posted the below photo to Instagram, with the following caption:

10 years ago, I was lucky enough to be the little girl standing to the left of @katiecouric celebrating the 2005 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. I flew to NYC with my dance studio from Miami @impacyouthensembledance and danced my heart out with the biggest smile on my face, I never forgot that day. Tomorrow, ten years later, I will be performing on a float on the 2015 #macysthanksgivingdayparade. See you soon @mattlauernbc !??    #rottentothecore
