These Oscar Speeches Are Our Ultimate #MondayMotivation!
We can’t get their inspiring words out of our heads!
Without a doubt, the 2017 Academy Awards were a night to remember! The dresses, the suits, the awards, THE CANDY! With all that said, the speeches were what truly hooked us. Hollywood has a very influential voice on the rest of America, so we were all on the edge of our seats waiting to hear what each winner would have to say! One thing is for sure, we were not dissapointed.
Although everyone had fantastic speeches, there were a few that caught our attention the most, so we included them below for you guys to check out!
1. Mahershala Ali took the time to thank influential people from his past, “I want to thank my teachers and professors, I had so many wonderful teachers, and one thing they consistently told me was that it’s not about you, it’s about these characters.”
2. Emma Stone made sure to note that her Oscar was not the end of her journey in Hollywood, “I still have a lot of growing and learning and work to do, and this is a really beautiful symbol to continue on that journey, and I’m so grateful for that.”
3. Everyone was left in tears by Viola Davis’ inspiring speech, “I believe that the privilege of a lifetime is being who you are, truly being who you are. And I’ve spent far too long apologizing for that.”
4. Barry Jenkins, the mastermind behind “Moonlight”, said, “For all you people out there who feel there is no mirror for you, that you feel your life is not reflected…we have your back, and for the next four years… we will not forget you.”
