You’ve Gotta See What Bruno Mars Did For One Very Special Fan
But grab a tissue first!
Four years ago, Zumyah Thorpe was the only survivor in a tragic car accident that took the lives of her mother and two sisters. As a result of the fatal crash, Zumyah (who was eleven years old) suffered brain damage, and had to stay in the hospital to learn how to speak again. One night, nurses played Bruno Mars, and noticed an immediate change in Zumyah. So they continued playing his music every night – and well, you’ve just gotta see what happened when Bruno’s tour came to her city:
Bruno posted the below photo to Instagram, and wrote, “Zumyah tonight you gave my band and I something we’ve never felt before. you’re an inspiration to the world! #WeLoveYouZumyah.”
Four years later, and Zumyah is doing great. She’s even speaking to large groups about her car crash, which was caused by a drunk driver.
Whether it’s singing to a stadium full of people, or giving a talk to help save lives, we love when people use their voices to make a difference.
