All that hinting that “K.C. Undercover” may be done? It looks like it’s true.
Zendaya has been a total staple on Disney Channel for nearly half her lifetime: from her beloved TV shows like “Shake It Up” and “K.C. Undercover” to her DCOMs/TV movies “Zapped” and “Frenemies,” the actress has played a huge role in many of our childhood memories. But now, it looks like the star has officially confirmed that her days with the children’s network are coming to an end.
Zendaya posted a short video taken on set of “K.C.” with her co-stars, and captioned the clip “Last table read of my Disney Channel career….”
To us, this means that the episode the cast is rehearsing right now may just be not only the last-ever episode we get for the series… but it will be Zendaya’s final appearance on the network.
Z has previously hinted at this, sharing that she assumed Season 3 of “K.C. Undercover” would be its last, just due to where she personally AND the storyline were headed.
“I’m growing up, and there’s a lot of other things I want to do in my career,” she said. “K.C.’s growing up, she’s becoming a young woman, and there’s been a lot of talk this season about her going to college… and moving on [into different areas of her life].”
Disney has yet to comment or confirm this news, but it definitely makes sense.
Even while branching out and doing major cinematic movies like “Spider-Man: Homecoming” and “The Greatest Showman,” she had continued working on her Disney show, so we had hoped she would continue juggling all these elements of her career at least a little while longer.
We’re forever thankful for what she brought to Disney Channel and her shows, and look forward for all of what’s to come.
