The Olympic gold medalist knows a #GirlPower inspiration when she sees her!
Olympians are always inspiring us: the stories of how these athletes made it to the biggest sports venue in the world are incredible, and the feats they accomplish are nothing short of miraculous. But of course, these athletic superstars also find their own sources of inspiration. Sometimes, we even share some role models in common!
Over the course of the 2018 winter games in PyeongChang, South Korea, the whole world has gotten to know Chloe Kim, a 17-year-old American snowboarder from California. She started off the Games strong by picking up a gold medal, and showing sports fans what she’s really made of. As soon as you saw her impressive moves on the slopes, you likely listed her as one of your own Girl Power inspirations – but she’s actually personally motivated by some of our fave celebs.
“Zendaya — she’s a boss — and Rihanna as well,” she shared with Us Weekly about her strong female role models. “I feel like those are two very powerful women. They use their platform for a good cause, especially Zendaya. She’s always standing up for different cultures and out there being a good role model and a good person.”
Okay, totally agree. What an amazing inspiration list to have — and clearly they’re among the people motivating Chloe to do big things.
She is DEFINITELY one of our favorite athletes at the 2018 Winter Games!
