Cierra Ramirez Is Making History with Her New Role

The actress is now playing Marvel’s first Latino-American LGBT character.

You may know Cierra Ramirez best for her character Mariana in “The Fosters,” but you are about to get to know her in a history-making new role. The actress announced that she will be playing Miss America in “Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors,” an upcoming feature-length film from Marvel Television.

Not only is it incredible that Cierra gets to play a superhero, but according to BuzzFeed, her character America Chavez will be Marvel’s first Latino-American LGBT character.

More of our favorite stars are also part of this diverse and ultra modern cast based on characters we already love. Dove Cameron will play Spider Gwen, Tyler Posey voices Inferno, and Kathreen Khavari stars as Ms. Marvel, the first Muslim hero to get her own solo series. 

This is ALL kinds of yes for representation. Plus, it’s an action-packed story that’s sure to keep us entertained.
