The singer tells us all about her favorite pop inspirations!
Have you ever danced around your room with a hairbrush microphone in hand, blasting your favorite jam, and pretending you were living your best popstar life on a concert stage? That’s the exact vibe Christine Lee is channeling with her brand new music video for “Superstar.” The rising singer channels many of her favorite 2000s icons in her sparkly vid, the perfect accompaniment to her fun and catchy dance single.
To celebrate this new release, YSBnow caught up with Christine to hear all about the filming of this video and her own favorite pop artists of the moment. You can check out our exclusive Q&A interview below.
YSBnow: Can you tell us about your experience filming your “Superstar” music video, and what your favorite part of it is?
Christine Lee: I had so much fun while filming the “Superstar” music video! The lighting that was used in the video was really cool. We also had a bubble machine blowing lots of bubbles, which was super neat. I really enjoyed being able to just have fun and dance around without having to worry about anyone judging me. My favorite part about filming “Superstar” was getting to wear different hairstyles, makeup looks, and outfits that I wouldn’t normally wear on a daily basis.
YSBnow: How do you hope listeners feel when they listen to your new single?
Christine Lee: I hope to be able to put a smile on people’s faces when they hear this song. If someone is having a bad day or if they’re stressed out over something, I hope they put this song on and let the music take over so they forget about whatever it is that may be bothering them.
YSBnow: Who are some of your early 2000s pop inspirations?
Christine Lee: Some of my early 2000s pop inspirations are Selena Gomez, Hillary Duff, and Britney Spears.
YSBnow: If you could trade places with any pop superstar for a day, who would it be and what would you get up to?
Christine Lee: If I could trade places with any pop superstar for a day I would definitely trade places with Meghan Trainor, so I could get the chance to sing a song from “The Peanuts Movie.” I love the Peanuts cartoons!
YSBnow: What are some of your current favorite jams to dance to right now?
Christine Lee: Some of my current favorite jams to dance to right now are “Fire N Gold” by Bea Miller, “Better When I’m Dancin’” by Meghan Trainor, and “Eyes Wide Open” by Sabrina Carpenter. I really like the positive messages that are in these songs. They’re also fun songs that you can dance to with some friends.
