In less than two years, Kelsea Ballerini has soared into global superstardom. Kelsea’s always been open about how the pain of her parents’ divorce inspired her to make music, and about the constant rejection she faced as a young singer/songwriter in Nashville.  Those struggles have made her success that much sweeter.  From record-breaking #1 singles to epic tours, Kelsea’s simply crushing it.

On Sunday, she had a major full-circle moment, when she was not only nominated, but also chosen to perform at the 2017 Grammy Awards. And while Kelsea didn’t win her category (Best New Artist), she certainly had no complaints!

In fact, Kelsea took to Instagram to share her feelings – and a memory that will completely inspire you to follow your dreams. She posted a photo with her mother at the awards show and captioned it: 

Me and momma watched the Grammys every year growing up, and I remember being a thirteen year old starry-eyed wannabe country singer sitting on the couch next to her and saying if I ever got to go to the show, she’d be my date. Tonight I got to dress up in the most beautiful dress I’ve ever worn with my beautiful momma, as a Grammy nominated artist and performer. I didn’t win the award, but trust me, I won. 

Kelsea proves that anything is possible in life. If you can dream it, you can do it. Know that any pain you endure will ultimately fuel your passion. Work hard, never give up and never stop believing in yourself!
