Teddy Geiger is a prolific singer/songwriter who rose to fame in the 2000’s with his debut single, “For You I Will (Confidence).”

But in recent years he’s worked more behind-the-scenes, penning songs like One Direction’s “Little Black Dress” and “Where Do Broken Hearts Go.”

He’s also become a close friend and frequent collaborator of Shawn Mendes, with production and songwriting credits on his recent hits like, “Stitches,” “Treat You Better,” “Mercy,” and “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back.”

And now, there’s nothing holding him back. Hours ago, Teddy bravely came out as trans in this Instagram post:

On which Shawn left two supportive comments, saying he loves him.
