#TVTuesday: Get The Scoop on Fox’s New Series “STAR”

All the deets and why we’re so excited for it!

Next month, FOX is premiering a new show, STAR, following the lives of a rising female trio in the music industry. The show will center around the talented and ambitious women as they discover the dark realities of what it takes to “make it” as artist.

The trio is comprised of Star, a tough young girl who grew up in the foster care system, her biological sister, Simone, who she tracks down, and Alexandra, Star’s Instagram best friend. The three together journey to Atlanta desperate to do what it takes to find success.

The show features the multi-talented Queen Latifah as well as Grammy Award winner and Hunger Games actor, Lenny Kravitz, who each take on supporting roles. The show is produced and directed by Lee Daniels, the creator and producer of Empire. STAR will follow in the footsteps of music industry dramas before it like Empire and Nashville and will feature original music and performances. The cast is incredibly diverse and sets a great example for future television shows on the importance of representation in television.
