Vogue FTW: The Iconic Mag is Featuring Role Models Instead of Fashion Models

This is a big deal

For the first time, Vogue UK will feature successful businesswomen on its fashion pages and in editorial features. The November issue, on sale this week, not only proves that women can hold professional careers and still have fun with fashion; it also demonstrates that beauty exists beyond sample-sizes and Photoshop. So. Much. Yes.

The cast of “real” women includes award-winning journalist Melanie Reid, who became paralyzed after a 2010 horse riding accident and now writes about living with a disability. 

By featuring women of all shapes and sizes, Vogue is sending an important (not to mention refreshing) message about beauty. Women in business are successful, intelligent, and inspiring. We love that Vogue UK is featuring these real-life role models and hope that other major publications will soon follow their lead.
