“Please think about the young women who may read body-judgment comments and judge themselves.”
It’s so awesome when stars decide to eloquently respond to their haters, and we can add Gigi Hadid to that formidable list.
Prior to becoming the world’s most in-demand model, Gigi was a high school athlete who played competitive volleyball, softball, and rode horses.
So when an Instagram user decided that Gigi’s body was suddenly too skinny, she felt compelled to clap back.
“Bodies change as girls become women,” she wrote. “I loved my body as a 17-year-old athlete and I love my body now. Yes, I’ve lost some ‘baby fat,’ but muscle mass from my intensive volleyball training in high school has changed over the years into lean muscle.”
And she’s certainly not on a diet. “Purposely changing my body has never been my thing,” she continued. “I still eat what I want, I’m still strong and I’m still healthy.
Gigi says she won’t let such criticism get her down, but wants to ensure that criticism of her body doesn’t affect other girls. “Next time, please think about the young women who may read body-judgment comments and judge themselves,” she ended.
At the end of the day, measurements and numbers on scale do not matter. The only thing worth worrying about, as Gigi mentioned, is health. Don’t stress over pounds and instead, be the best you – the healthiest and happiest you – YOU can be! Just like Gigi, You’re So Beautiful Now!
