We break down another record-breaking night for the guys!
Over the weekend, BTS made history by performing on “Saturday Night Live” in New York City, the first K-pop group to ever appear as a musical guest on the show’s iconic stage. Together, RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook helped break down language and cultural barriers and proudly represent their South Korean culture on American television. We got to see their latest smash hit “Boy with Luv” performed in all of its glory, and they capped off an incredibly energetic night with the crowd-pleasing “Mic Drop.”
Below, we’re rounding up 10 of our personal favorite moments from the guys’ big performance, along with some of the absolute perfect little details fans that loved most!
1. First of all, it was EPIC seeing BTS hanging out with SNL’s celebrity guest host of the week, Emma Stone.
2. It’s daunting for any performer to go on live TV and show the world what they’ve got, but we loved seeing how BTS handled their stage time like confident pros.
3. Suga was positively radiant performing the group’s new song “Boy with Luv,” and his interpretation of the choreography really stood out.
4. Did you know that Jimin can actually fly? Our jaws hit the floor when he took center stage and broke it down like this.
5. Honestly, J-Hope looked like he was having the time of his life up on the SNL stage, and his energy was infectious.
6. Did you catch Suga and J-Hope pointing at each other at this moment? Their goofy grins are everything!
7. All the guys sounded SO smooth and polished, but Jin’s vocals particularly captured viewers’ attention.
8. And Jimin took his high note up about 100 notches with a little freestyled ad lib!
9. Even the show’s ENDING was adorable, as the guys cutely waved at the cameras and then started hugging each other!
10. Perhaps the BEST part of BTS’ SNL performance is that so many new fans were just introduced to the guys. After their performances, many new viewers shared they finally see what all the hype is about.
