Breanna Yde Opens Up About Social Media Pressures

“Social media is a place for us to get to know each other and I want you to know the real me,” the star shared.

Do you ever feel like you have to act a certain way on social media? Like your Instagram photos have to all be edited *just so*, your captions have to be on point, and every single one of your tweets needs to be hilarious and go viral? It’s a lot of work… especially for something that doesn’t let people know much about who you really are.

A ton of our favorite celebs feel the pressure too. You know that when stars visit YSBnow, we love asking them for advice on how to deal with the pull to look perfect online. A lot of times it has to do with deleting apps, reassessing themselves, and starting over. Now, “School of Rock” actress Breanna Yde took to her Instagram to actually “re-introduce herself,” and explain why she felt compelled to do this.

“So… I have always felt a lot of pressure when it came to social media. I felt the pressure to be perfect, to only post good pictures, to show the best version of myself,” Breanna shared. “But no one is perfect. Humans are not perfect. I believe social media is a place for us to get to know each other and I want you to know the real me. So I want to start fresh. Hey, Im brea. xx.”

The actress’ words are an inspiring reminder that social media should be about connecting with others rather than impressing them — and we’re so proud of her for sharing!
