Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve heard Demi Lovato’s new album The Art of Starting Over. Demi’s new music is personal and powerful, with references to her personal struggles with addiction and heartbreak, and features from superstars Ariana Grande, Sam Fischer, Saweetie, and Noah Cyrus.
Ariana’s feature is called “Met Him Last Night” and you’d probably never guess that the duo wrote it over Zoom. In a recent appearance on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, Demi says that Ariana is her best friend in the industry and is incredibly supportive. “I have a few close friends who are famous,” Demi says. “The closest friend I have in the industry is Ariana Grande. She’s someone who has been so f****ing supportive time after time after time again and she’s someone I can go to, she’s someone in the industry that when I need an industry friend, she’ll be there for me.”
Fans have noticed how close the two pop stars have become and coined the nickname “Dariana” online. Demi says, “It’s nice to see my name mashed up with someone else’s who’s gonna be a friend forever. [Sometimes] my name’s been mixed up with people that are no longer in my life and it makes me sad, but I know Ariana [Grande] is one that’s always gonna be there. I love ‘Dariana.'”
