The boys came over to teach us about the Teal Pumpkin Project and things got silly.
This week we got to learn about a whole new organization that makes kids with food allergies feel included on Halloween. For some of us who don’t suffer from food allergies, it’s easy to forget that Halloween can make some kids feel excluded.
Most of the time, trick-or-treating is synonymous with getting candy, but the reality for a lot of kids is that they’re just walking door to door and getting treats that they can’t ever eat because of their allergies to foods like peanuts, tree nuts, and more.
So August and Ocean Maturo teamed up with FARE – an organization dedicated to spreading awareness (and toys!) about kids with food allergies. On Halloween specifically, you can put a teal pumpkin on your doorstep so that kids with allergies know that you have other things to give away to trick-or-treaters that DON’T include candy.

Don’t miss this video, it’s pretty hilarious. Plus there’s a blooper reel!
