“I am going to challenge myself to love harder,” the country singer says.
It’s easy to feel powerless when scary and overwhelming tragedies happen in the world, like the horrible attack at a country music festival in Las Vegas this week. But it’s important to be able to shine light in the darkest of times. Singer Kelsea Ballerini has found a way that she can honor those lost and continue moving forward stronger than before: and she wants to inspire her fans to take part in their own ways too.
While several artists — especially those in the country music community — have taken to social media to share their messages of support for victims, Kelsea specifically shared how she personally wants to use her talent, music, to make the world a happier place. She says the inspiration all came from a beautiful sunrise after a very dark day.
“I watched the sun come up this morning. And I was reminded that each day really is a gift,” Kelsea shared in an Instagram text post. “And that there is still beauty around if you look for it. And that we have the ability to make people happy.”
To do her part, Kelsea wants to keep connecting people through the power of music. But she’s encouraging fans to look inward to find their own gifts.
“No matter what career you have or what you believe in or what change needs to happen, we all have that power as humans right now,” she said. “I’m going to keep making and playing music like the heaven it is, and I am going to challenge myself to love harder. Because that’s what I can do to make the world a little happier.”
