Monday Motivation: Demi Lovato Bares Her Soul on Mary J. Blige’s Real Talk

“When you are struggling, the strongest thing you can do for yourself is ask for help.” Time and time again, Demi Lovato leaves us both inspired and in awe – but she doesn’t just do it with her music, she does it with her message. She’s one of the few superstars to consistently open up about her struggles and during her recent visit to Mary J. Blige’s Real Talk show, she took it to a whole new level, speaking out on everything from mental illness to the tragic loss of her puppy, Buddy. “When I shut my eyes at night, I’m alone in my thoughts, and it’s in those moments that I would tell myself I’m gonna get through this,” she says. “No matter how much it’s gonna hurt, I’ve gotta cry it out.” The interview is about 20 minutes long, but every second is worth the listen.
