#MondayMotivation: Coy Stewart’s Journey To Marvel
“I remember telling my parents that I wished I could be a part of it”
Coy Stewart was one of the lucky celebrities who got to walk the red carpet at the Black Panther premiere – and see the blockbuster Marvel movie before anyone else. But while posting his recap of photos after the event, the actor explained how that moment was part of his dream come full circle.
You see, when Coy was a kid, he only dreamed that one day he’d be part of the Marvel universe.
Now, he is 19, has a role on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and he’s meeting superheroes as part of his job!
“10 years ago I was visiting LA on vacation and came to Hollywood Blvd during the Iron Man premiere. I remember telling my parents that I wished I could be apart of it,” Coy wrote on Instagram. “They told me, ‘Give it ten years, Son.’ Here we are. Absolutely blessed to not only be apart of the Marvel family, but to also see this film. @ryancoogler knocked this one outta the park, as did the amazing cast.”
“This film reminded me how far my people have come, not only in the entertainment industry but as a whole,” he added. “We still have a long way to go, but as long as we have some Panther in us we will always thrive. Thank you to the Black Panther team for representing our people in such an amazing way. And thank you to @jjward12 for bringing me along. I’ll never forget this night. Coy has already accomplished so much in his career, we can’t even imagine what the next 10 years will be like!
