Just when we were wondering if she would be acting again, she announced her new project!
If you’ve been upset since “Girl Meets World” ended and Sabrina Carpenter’s incredible summer “De-Tour” is nearly at its final stop, you’re in for some exciting news: the star’s latest project is on the horizon, and it is even cooler than you can imagine!
While touring the US and Canada with her music, Sabrina took a brief pause from acting until she could 100% dedicate herself to it again. But now, it was just revealed that she will be joining the cast of “The Hate U Give,” an upcoming film adaptation of the Black Lives Matter young adult novel of the same name by Angela Thomas.
Sabrina is set to play the role of Hailey, a prep school friend of the main character Starr, who will be played by Amandla Stenberg.
“The story follows a 16-year-old girl named Starr who grew up in a poverty-stricken slum, but now attends a suburban prep school,” according to The Hollywood Reporter. “After she witnesses a police officer shoot her unarmed best friend, she’s torn between her two very different worlds as she tries to speak her truth.”
This is a truly meaningful story, and we can’t wait to see how it plays out onscreen.
