See Kira’s Heartfelt Words For Her Father

If you’ve ever visited YSBnow.com, you know that Kira Kosarin is one of our absolute favorites. Not only is the Nickelodeon star super smart and talented, she’s also incredibly kind, open, and inspirational. Earlier today, she took to Instagram to share some beautiful words about her father, Danny. 

Kira writes:

You probably already know my dad is my best friend, my rock. 
What you probably don’t know is how close I’ve gotten to losing him. 
9 years ago my dad jumped into the ocean to save a little girl drowning in a hurricane. He was picked up by a wave and thrown into the ground, shattering his shoulder and paralyzing his right arm. Despite years of constant pain, he is the most resilient, strong, generous, positive, incredible human I know. 
As if that wasn’t enough, 7 months ago my dad collapsed from a mystery illness while I was on stage at Nickelodeon’s Slime Fest in London. He’s still fighting to get healthy to this day. 
I’m sharing this to say, if you have someone important to you, tell them. Hug them everyday. Say I love you every time you hang up the phone. Don’t take anyone for granted because you never know what life will bring. If you are lucky enough to know a very special person, don’t let a day go by where you don’t remind them how grateful you are to have them. 
To my dad, my person, I love you more than anything and I don’t know what I would do without you.

We’re so grateful to Kira for sharing this touching tribute. Sometimes it’s easy to take the closest people in our lives for granted, but it’s so important to stop and remember how lucky we are to have them here with us in the first place.
