“You can use your power to turn what’s meant to be negative into something positive,” Khrystyana says.
When people share before-and-after photos on Instagram, a lot of times they have something to do with weight loss. If losing weight or gaining muscle through increased fitness activities is your goal, then that’s totally fine! But they are far from the only types of beautiful and inspiring transformation photos out there, and this gorgeous model’s latest social media snaps are proof.
Model and body-positive activist Khrystyana recently shared a side-by-side collage that actually shows off her weight gain since her early modeling days, paired with a motivational message that illustrates how much happier, healthier, and glowing she is now.
“In 2013 I thought I wasn’t small enough to be a fashion model and technically I have never been small enough. Even back then with all the dietary suffering and daily long hours at the gym I was at 37.5 hip size, a bit too thick,” the model posted. “Was I happy? Absolutely not. I did not care about my happiness nor mental health, it was all about getting the next gig.”
“I found myself depressed going through identity crisis. I gained more weight, hated myself more and more until I had no more energy left within me to hate anything,” Khrystyana shared of her journey. “But exhaustion was somehow freeing. Freeing from thoughts. Blank brained, I looked at this newer but older me. No more striking judgments. Why? Why should we ever wreck ourselves? For career? parental approvals? romances? or fame? Why did I? Why would you ever? TRUST the NOWEST you, trust that this is deserving of all your love. It really does. —- yours, Newer but older Khrystyana — 1. Photo by my good friend @danrappa 2. Khrystyana’s before-and-after photos perfectly explain her sentiment, but this is not the first time the model has spoken up for body peace on social media. In fact, she’s constantly inspiring her followers with her stunning photos and wise words.
In several of her photos, Khrystyana hugs her tummy and highlights why it’s one of her most beautiful features.
“Anyone who cannot see your beauty, is less fortunate than those that can,” she shared. “Experiencing one’s beauty is a marvelous journey.”
“Do you remember that warm fuzzy feeling striking all over you of ‘ahhh this is beautiful’ how delicious was that to be stunned?” she asked.
“I call on you to be the fortunate one, to be the awaken one, to be stunned when you look at the mirror or down to your legs, your stomach. I call on you to swim in the joy that YOU can create right now, wish you to choose that route,” she shared.
