#ThrowbackThursday: Remember That Time Selena Slayed On Ellen?

“Everybody thinks they can bring me down,” she told the talk show host.

Whether she’s visiting children’s hospitals on her day off, or meeting her fans backstage before a concert, Selena Gomez is one of the sweetest people on the planet. It was so upsetting to see the media criticize her beach body when she was simply trying to enjoy a few days off in Mexico. “That was the first time I’d ever been called fat,” she revealed. “But it was weird, because it’s not just, ‘Oh she’s fat.’ It’s like, ‘She’s a mess, she’s gone off the deep end.’ Because I’m on a vacation wearing a bathingsuit? It’s so degrading.”

But Selena scored a win for girls and women everywhere by refusing to allow the  bullies to have the last word. The very next day, she Instagrammed a powerful (not to mention stunning) photo of herself in a swimsuit, along with the caption, “I love being happy with me yall #theresmoretolove.”

Could she get any cooler? “I don’t want them to win,” she shared. “It’s so annoying when I see it all over the place and everybody thinks they can bring me down and so my immediate response was, ‘I’m going to post a picture and say I’m happy with me, and that was going to be the story the next day.” Yes Selena!
