#AwwAlert: This Little Girl Asked a New Student to Sit Together at Lunch Using Google Translate

Your daily dose of “AWWW”

Two elementary school kids have proven that kindness knows no bounds.

One day at school, 10-year-old Amanda Moore noticed her new classmate, Rafael, sitting alone at lunch. When she tried to talk to him, she noticed he didn’t speak much English – but Amanda had a plan.

When she got home from school that day, Amanda used Google Translate to write a note in Spanish that she planned to give Rafael the following morning. According to CBS News, she then asked her mom, Kimberly Kinard, to proofread it. The mom then shared a video of Amanda reading the letter out loud to the Facebook page, Love What Matters (watch it down below!).

In the caption, Kimberly says that the note conveyed exactly what Amanda wanted to say to Rafael, even though the translation was off ever so slightly. Her letter reads: “‘Would you like to sit with me today? Look for me and I will show you where I sit. We can color or simply tell scary stories. Thank you for your time, signed Amanda,’” Kimberly continued.

What happened after? Kimberly told ABC7 that ever since the note, Amanda and Rafael have become best friends. On Halloween, Kimberly shared a picture on Facebook of the two of them trick-or-treating together. Rafael even told 6ABC Action News that him and Amanda will be friends forever.

Hear that sound? That’s the sound of our hearts exploding with cuteness.
