Does this casting announcement give away major D3 spoilers?!
The wait for “Descendants 3” just got even more exciting. (How is that even *possible*?!) Disney Channel just announced a brand new villain that will be joining the cast: actor Cheyenne Jackson has been cast as Hades from “Hercules.” You may know him from past projects like “American Horror Story” or “Glee.”
This cool news comes shortly after the network announced the arrival of series newcomers Jamal Sims (Dr. Facilier from “The Princess and the Frog”), Jadah Marie (Dr. Facilier’s daughter Celia), and Christian Convery and Luke Roessler as Smee from “Peter Pan”‘s sons Squeaky and Squirmy. With a well-rounded group of villains like this, we just know that there’s going to be some troubling a’brewing in this third Descendants chapter.
Disney Channel also confirmed that Dove Cameron (Mal), Cameron Boyce (Carlos), Sofia Carson (Evie), Booboo Stewart (Jay), China Anne McClain (Uma), Thomas Doherty (Harry Hook), Dylan Playfair (Gil), Anna Cathcart (Dizzy), Mitchell Hope (Ben), Sarah Jeffery (Audrey), Jedidiah Goodacre (Chad Charming), Zachary Gibson (Doug), Brenna D’Amico (Jane), Dan Payne (Beast), Keegan Connor Tracy (Belle), and Melanie Paxson (Fairy Godmother) will all be reprising their popular roles from the first and/or second movies for D3.
That’s quite the incredible cast, isn’t it?
Now, we’re usually not all about film spoilers, but Disney Channel explained that now that Cheyenne has joined the movie, casting is complete. But if you think way back to this movie’s original trailer (which we have on repeat), we learn that Mal’s dad is finally going to be revealed in the franchise’s third installment. If you’re picking up what we’re putting down, we have a feeling that Hades is going to be debuted as Mal’s father. Though it hasn’t been officially revealed as such, all of this news fits the description – and would honestly be just perfect.
