Laura Marano’s New Role Is a Cinderella Dream Come True

New holiday movie alert!

What do Hilary Duff, Selena Gomez, Lucy Hale, Sofia Carson, and Laura Marano all have in common? Well, in addition to being fabulous stars who stand out as some of our fave performers, they have all taken on the iconic tile princess role in the “A Cinderella Story” movie series! That’s right, Laura’s up next: she was just announced as the lead in the upcoming holiday version (!!!) of the film.

According to a movie description for “A Cinderella Story: Christmas Wish,” Laura is set to play the aspiring singer-songwriter Katherine “Kat” Decker. Her dreams of making it big time as a performer are stunted by her “conniving and cruel stepfamily.” You know that he stepmom and stepsisters are total villains in the Cinderella world, but in this new film, Kat is stuck working “a demoralizing job working as a singing elf at billionaire Terrence Wintergarden’s Santa Land,” rather than cleaning her family’s chimney.

Laura is joined in this cast by Gregg Sulkin and Isabella Gomez, who have already let a little bit of their secret filming slip through sharing cute photos together!
