Selena Gomez’s “Wizards of Waverly Place” Family Sends Messages of Support Following Her Kidney Transplant

This Disney Channel family is always there for one another.

Yesterday, Selena Gomez shared the unexpected news that she recently underwent a kidney transplant surgery due to complications from lupus. Her donor was actually one of her longtime best friends, actress Francia Raisa. If that gesture weren’t incredible enough, now Selena’s former Disney Channel co-stars are also proving that they are still her close family, and their words of praise and support have come pouring in.

First, Selena’s TV little brother Jake T. Austin shared a beautiful and supportive message for her on Instagram, reacting to her health updates.

“You remind me daily to live my most authentic life without apologies while constantly inspiring me to be the best I can be for not only myself, but for others,” Jake posted on Instagram with a gallery of sweet throwback photos. “You’re one of the strongest people I know, proving that day in and out with a smile and no complaints even at times when I know it was hard for you. Anyone who knows you is well aware of your resilience. I’ve never been more proud to call you my friend, my family and someone I couldn’t live my life without. Someone once said, ‘friends are the family we choose’ and I’m so thankful you’re both. #getwellsoon #flasbackfriday ????.”

Then, Selena’s TV bestie Jennifer Stone posted a throwback photo with her own message of support.

“Sweet pea, you are one brave lady! Proud of you for sharing your story with so many who may be undergoing the same struggle. My prayers and love are with you always. ??,” Jen posted.

While the rest of the “Wizards” cast hasn’t yet publicly commented on Selena’s health, they are definitely there to support her. One of our fave examples is how her TV dad David Deluise found her magazine covers in the store.

“Look!!! I ran into @selenagomez and @theweeknd ??,” David posted about this truly magical moment.
