We don’t know about you, but we’d be a sobbing mess if something we worked hard on for ages was now paying off big time. That’s exactly what happened to so many of our favorite aritsts this morning!
Today, the 2019 Grammy Award nominations went out, and among the list are some excited first-time nominees who can’t believe it’s all real. Stars like Shawn Mendes, Camila Cabello, BTS, Chloe x Halle, Bebe Rexha, Dua Lipa, and more woke up to the news that they are in the running for the music industry’s biggest honor!
Many of these artists took to social media to share their overwhlming excitement with their fans. Check out some of their reactions below — and get seriously emotional right along with them.
Shawn Mendes was on “CBS This Morning” when the Grammy announcements were read out, and he couldn’t believe what was happening.
He’s now in the running for “Song of the Year: with “In My Blood, and “Best Pop Vocal Album.”
Chloe and Halle Bailey (Chloe x Halle) are nominated for two Grammys: “Best New Artist” and “Best Urban Contemporary Album.” They found out super early in the morning, and couldn’t hold back happy tears.
To quote her incredible song, Bebe Rexha was “a mess” of tears when she found out she’s up for “Best New Artist.” In the best possible way, of course!
She’s also nominated for “Best Country Duo/Group Performance” with Florida Georgia Line, who are also excited first-timers!
Camila Cabello has just been non-stop killin’ it – and now she’s a first-time Grammy nominee.
Camila’s nominated for two awards: “Best Pop Solo Performance (“Havana Live”) and “Best Pop Vocal Album” (“Camila”).
The tears just kept coming for Dua Lipa (who’s just had the most incredible year!) when she found out about her own 2 Grammy nods.
This Grammy moment is a bit of fate for country duo Dan + Shay: “We met exactly 6 years ago, today (12/7/12), and woke up this morning to our first Grammy nomination(s),” the guys posted. “Emotion level: maximum. ????.”
Congratulations are seriously in order! There are tons more first-time nominees for the 2019 season, and even more returning favorites with a new round of recognition.
Stars like Taylor Swift, Demi Lovato, Ariana Grande, Kendrick Lamar, Lady Gaga, Backstreet Boys, Drake, and so many more deserving artists are up for some prestigious awards. We can’t wait to see how it all plays out!
