The DJ has some advice on how easy it is to spread kindness.
Sometimes, it can feel like many of our favorite musical artists are competing with one another. Competing for a space on the top radio hits charts, or for a prestigious award like the Grammys or iHeartRadio Awards. But actually, when those artists come together and work as a team, they go even further!
One example of that is one of our fave DJs, Zedd. As you may know, the artist has collaborated with some of the biggest stars in the industry, like Selena Gomez, Liam Payne, Hailee Steinfeld, Troye Sivan, Alessia Cara, and many more.
But in a recent interview, Zedd was asked about teaming up with Kesha – and reaching out to her to offer help while she was going through legal issues with her music label. When it felt like Kesha may not ever be able to release music again, Zedd tweeted an offer to produce one of her tracks if it would get her voice out there. As we all know, Kesha was able to fight and overcome, and was able to make a huge statement with her latest album, “Rainbow.” But nobody has forgotten Zedd for his kindness.
Humble as ever, Zedd doesn’t think he did anything that special: he just wanted to extend a friendly helping hand. His advice about the whole situation will really inspire you though.
“I’m super happy. I don’t take any credit in it,” he told V Man magazine. “But it can be really easy for a small gesture to achieve something really big. It’s not like your gesture or your move is everything in the universe—you’re just a little part of it—but maybe your action will inspire someone else to do something.”
Zedd’s words are so true: if you want to make a difference, you just have to start *somewhere.* Maybe you won’t be able to solve a big problem on your own, but it starts a chain reaction. You’ll be surprised where your good intentions will take you!
