Harry Styles Reaches Out to Four Year Old Girl Battling Terminal Cancer

“She’s loved him since she was about 12 months old”

Harry Styles has offered to Facetime one of his biggest fans: four-year-old Jessica Whelan, who is fighting stage four neuroblastoma and has only weeks left to live.

Jessica’s story went viral when her father, Andy Whelan, shared a heartbreaking photo of his daughter crying and writhing in pain to expose the reality of childhood cancer. The photo has now been shared over 500,000 times. 

“Yes it is heartbreaking but this is reality,” he wrote. “I had a massive battle with myself to both take and show this photo, not knowing if it should be shown to others.”

The Whelans have since received an outpouring of support from friends and strangers alike – one of whom was Harry Styles:

According to Andy, Harry is “Jessica’s idol,” and she’s “loved him since she was about 12 months old and followed him with her auntie Megan who’s liked One D since they started.”

Andy told the Manchester Evening News that Harry had offered to Facetime her, but because “Jessica is so unpredictable at the moment and we don’t know when she might be sleeping or in too much time, I asked him whether he could record a video to us to show to her when she’s feeling comfortable. At least that way it’s something she can watch again and again.”

We’re so glad that some good has come out of Jessica’s devastating situation, and hope that Harry’s video brings a smile to her beautiful face over and over again!
