YouTuber Jessie Paege has bravely opened up about a private health struggle she has been battling for some time now. The star was diagnosed with the eating disorder anorexia nervosa, and has been working on her recovery for the past few months.
After taking some time to step away from her online spotlight to focus on improving her health all around, the vlogger dedicated her latest video to telling her story. She shared some of her highs and lows in the hopes that her fans watching could recognize the signs and symptoms in their own lives — or their friends’.
“I hope this story helps a lot of people out,” Jessie shared. “I’m so insanely proud of myself and how far I’ve come with recovery and my eating disorder. There is a MASSIVE trigger warning, so be careful and use your own discretion.”
While it was incredibly difficult for Jessie to begin to open up about such a personal topic, she felt that it was important to talk about her physical and mental health journey now that she is healthier and in a better place to speak up about it. We’re so proud of her for putting herself out there, and inspiring and educating so many viewers.
Jessie is donating all of the ad money she earns from her latest video to eating disorder-related charities, BUT she has issued several trigger warnings for any viewers who may struggle with the content.
